This is where I get to ramble on about myself, informing you about the fact that I have no life, spend far too much time writing boring web pages about myself, have 5 dogs, 6 donkeys and 3 goats, and care little for life except for cans of coke, coffee, pizza and hot chips, in typical nerd-like fashion. Actually, none of this is true, but the truth is probably just as boring. If you are still not convinced, feel free to read on.
My primary musical instrument is the piano/keyboard, though I also play descant recorder (those of you who view it as a school 'toy' instrument and nothing else have a huge deal to learn), learnt guitar for a short time and sing a bit. I have taken exams with the Trinity College of London, and have completed my grade 8 practical in piano and grade 5 theory.
My musical tastes are rather diverse and include bits of everything from classical to lighter metal. That said, I tend to be more alternative in my listening and am not fond of a great deal of mainstream pop/rock. I particularly have a great love for progressive rock/metal and am one of the founders of the fledgling progressive band Nth Degree. Artists of whom I am particularly fond include, but are most definitely not limited to:
I have a great interest in the more technical aspects of computers in general, especially in networking. I am extremely fond of Unix operating systems, particularly GNU/Linux. I have done some work, both paid and unpaid, already in the information technology industry.
Once I pick up a decent book, even if not initially intended for leisure, I tend to enjoy it. However, generally, in terms of fiction (I don't read a lot of non-fiction material), I like science fiction and fantasy. I have a particular love for audio dramas. Material/authors I have enjoyed include:
I have a great interest in spirituality. I would probably fit into the category of spiritualist, though I consider myself Christian in most respects, even though much of what I believe is not accepted by most Christian traditions; e.g. reincarnation.
Other interests include socialising, good food, wine and goalball (a sport for the blind), rambling endlessly (as if you hadn't noticed) and procrastination.
Writing this damned thing is getting really boring. I don't know why I'm bothering; chances are that no one will read it anyway.
