In my usual explorations of the internet, I found LyricWiki! This looks like a great project. It is, as the name suggests, a wiki for lyrics. From the front page:LyricWiki is a free site which is a source where anyone can go to get reliable lyrics for any song from any artist without being hammered by invasive ads.

I think wikis are a marvellous concept. They appeal to my idealistic, warm and fuzzy notion of people openly contributing to help themselves and others (i.e. "by the people for the people"). This is yet another example of such an effort. Unfortunately, lyrics for much of the music I listen to are not available, mostly due to the alternative nature of said music, though it seems that all of the Dream Theater lyrics are there, which is fantastic. I guess I'll have to start contributing when I can find time!
